We are currently looking for an experienced Weekend Supervisor to join the Quality Assurance group in Vermont. Reporting to the Manager of Analytical Services, this position is the primary QA supervisor for all weekend manufacturing and testing and will be working a 12 hour shift, Friday – Sunday. PBM’s analytical labs operate on a 24/7 schedule and require strong leadership from an experienced, hands-on leader who can effectively guide and motivate their team. Major responsibilities include managing the QA function to obtain accurate and timely analytical testing results; supervising laboratory personnel to ensure proper adherence to GMPs and GLPs; performing data review, data entry, and data validation in LIMS; ensuring release of raw and packaging materials; preparing detailed reports as needed; and interacting with Processing, Drying and Packaging departments regarding quality and regulatory issues.

Duties:

• Supervises the Chemical Testing Lab, Instrumented Testing Lab and Microbiology Lab. Provides QA support to the Packaging Lab and all related systems. Ensures analytical accuracy, timely delivery of results and safety.
• Manages employee performance to include: training, coaching, performance review, attendance and discipline.
• Performs duties associated with Product Release Services on an as needed basis. Samples, tests, and/or releases raw materials, in-process samples, rework and packaging components.
• Drafts, reviews and approves analytical testing methods, instrument qualifications and related validations to ensure appropriate technology, efficiency and effectiveness.
• Installs, troubleshoots and maintains analytical instrumentation systems as needed.
• Ensures that appropriate equipment and supplies are available to perform analytical testing functions; performs troubleshooting and repair of lab equipment as necessary.

Education:

B.S. degree in Chemistry or a closely related life science

Skills & Experience:

• 5-7 years of experience in Nutritional QA/QC or a closely related food/pharmaceutical testing facility
• Firm understanding of cGMP and Nutritional requirements
• Strong and proven leadership in a high performance team management environment
• Must possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to independently make decisions in a fast paced environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, LIMS and SAP
• Flexibility, adaptability and versatility are required
• Willingness to participate in, contribute to and lead a high performance work team
