Strategic Account Manager

We are currently searching for a Strategic Account Manager for our Central and West regions. As the Strategic Account Manager, the successful candidate will report to our Vice President of Sales and will be responsible for driving sales, executing channel sales development plan to ultimately meet and exceed an aggressive revenue target, and ensuring successful and broad deployment of PBM’s products.

Duties:

  • Perform industry and competitive analysis to highlight underlying category trends and competitive dynamics.
  • Understand customer needs and identifying needs across the baby food industry.
  • Identify, evaluate and mange new strategic business opportunities, partnerships and alliances.
  • Create a pipeline of opportunities that are managed and reviewed monthly/quarterly to ensure the pipeline is productive and yields partnerships.
  • Lead in all aspects of deal development – prospecting, sourcing, negotiating and closing.
  • Build and maintain fruitful relationships with customers.
  • Track relationship effectiveness.
  • Develop financial models for strategic initiatives, potential business development and partnership opportunities.
  • Forecast demand for proposed projects based on presented market research data and industry trends.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA in marketing highly preferred.
  • 2+ years experience in sales with exposure to all elements in the sales cycle.
  • Consumer packaged goods experience is a must, private label experience highly preferred.
  • Experience working with retail accounts is required.
  • Superior communication skills to sell ideas and programs both internally and externally; excellent verbal and presentation skills. Ability to analyze and synthesize data from multiple sources to create concise, effective sales presentations.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to identify key drivers of the business and set priorities against them.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
